The deputy registrar of Ghaziabad on Wednesday wrote to the district magistrate requesting him to conduct RWA elections for Gaur Valerio in Ahinsa Khand 2, Indirapuram. The decision came after Rajeev Munshi, a resident, along with other residents, complained to the deputy registrar about the society not having an RWA body.

Residents of Gaur Valerio said that a 10-member body, including the president and the general secretary, was formed in 2014 to take over the society from Gaursons India, the builder. The society is yet to have its own RWA, as there has been no election carried out.

Residents had called several general body meetings to discuss the issue, but most of these meetings concluded without reaching a satisfactory conclusion. Only a few weeks back, a group of about 100 residents approached the Kanawni police outpost with the issue. Residents had alleged that the elections were not being conducted because of the callous attitude of the president and the general secretary of the RWA.

The letter to the district magistrate also makes it clear that according to the UP Apartment Act 2010, a new RWA body should have been formed in February 2015, which in turn would render the current RWA body invalid.

The letter requests the district magistrate to appoint a subordinate officer as the election officer and pass orders for fresh elections, in accordance with the guidelines of UP Apartment Act, 2010.
