Noida: The Gautam Budh Nagar police on Saturday said that they have arrested six persons for violating Covid guidelines in Noida and Greater Noida.
Moreover, 1,900 vehicle owners were issued challans and 16 vehicles were impounded for similar violations. The district has so far recorded over 7,700 coronavirus cases including 45 deaths.
At present, Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) Section 144 is in force in Gautam Budh Nagar due to the coronavirus pandemic. Section 144 bars assembly of more than four people.
“A total of 4,688 vehicles were checked across 200 barrier points in the district and challans issued to 1,901 of them while another 16 were impounded for violating the curbs placed due to COVID-19,” police said in a statement.
As per police, they have far collected fines amounting Rs 1,40,800 during the action.
