Dwarka: At a time when the society management committee’s election has become a tense affair, there is one society which has achieved an unimaginable feat by continuously choosing its committee members without any voting.

The residents of The Gold Croft CGHS, a residential society in Sector 11, Dwarka, chose their management committee through consensus on Sunday. It was the fourth straight management committee which was elected without resorting to voting.

The last election was held at the society about 10 years back in 2010.

After being named as president of the society, Col SC Sharma said, “Taking everyone along is the only way to move forward in a co-operative society.”

“Generally, group housing societies, whether in Delhi or elsewhere, have earned a reputation for seeing a lot of bad blood and infighting among their members. The infighting takes centre stage during a management committee election. Fortunately, it is not a case in our society,” said Rajendra Goel, a member of the committee.
