Dwarka: Burning of horticulture waste is rampant these days in Dwarka. In almost all the sectors, such kinds of incidents are being reported by the residents.

In WhatsApp groups of residents where the officials of the civic bodies are also there, the subject is being highlighted with photographs. They are asking for a solution so that the horticulture waste could be managed properly and the pollution caused by such burnings could be controlled.

People are saying that neither the Delhi Development Authority nor the South Delhi Municipal Corporation seem to be serious on the subject. The burning has been on the rise.

Anil Parashar, an activist from Sector 7 said, “Dumped waste can be seen at vacant plots near societies, parks, roadsides and other such places. The management of such waste has been poor from the side of the civic bodies for a long time. Their failure has resulted in an increase in pollution. It must be controlled completely.”
