The deputy chief executive officer (DCEO) of Noida Authority, Saumya Srivastava, has been nominated as the election officer to the AOA polls in Grand Omaxe, Sector 93B, Noida. The move came two weeks after the residents filed a petition with the Allahabad High Court against the CEO of Noida Authority, Rama Raman, alleging that he had failed to comply with the earlier order of the high court.

The petitioner, Rahul Rathore, moved a contempt petition before the High Court, stating that Noida Authority, in violation of the order, had appointed a junior-ranked official in the post of project manager to preside over the elections. The court, however, had ordered an officer of the rank of joint secretary or the CEO to oversee the AOA elections. The appointed commissioner had suspended election polls on June 4.

Later, in response to the petition, Raman recommended Srivastava for the AOA polls in Grand Omaxe.
