Dwarka: As the High Court has put the stay on cutting of trees until there is permission from the forest department, a congratulatory message was conveyed among the residents.

It was decided to pursue the matter with forest the department to safeguard the interests of residents to have the trees on road no 226.

We would meet Environment minister, Gopal Rai in this regard. We would oppose the project till the local residents are consulted properly and the required lawful process is followed.

All the societies are appealed to come on board to jointly pursue the litigation in court and other efforts on the ground. Every society would make a contribution to meet the legal expenses.

We would take up tree numbering exercise for all the trees that would be impacted if this project comes through. Every tree would be counted and numbers would be painted on it.
