Dwarka: Residents on mission to save trees at Sector 8 park

Dwarka: Sector 8 residents are on the mission these days to protect hundreds of trees from cutting in a park located in the area. 

As shared by one of the pioneers of the mission and a resident of D-block Amit Kumar, DDA is planning to make a drain for airport rain water drain in Sector 8 and for that trees in the particular park have to be cut.

“As per proposed plan, approximately 600 trees, 12,000 sqmt of green belt and some of area's water bodies are under threat of destruction. Residents have given alternate plan to the authority to save the greenery. Online complaints cum alternate proposal has been given to the DDA in this regard,” he said.

In the last two days, hundreds of residents gathered on the spot in the park to show their solidarity to protect the trees. 

Representative of area councillor Sushma Godara was also present on the occasion to know the subject. “Councillor's representative assured us to take initiative and meet the chief engineer of the DDA on the subject,” said Kumar.
