Vacant plots in Sector 43 Noida are used as garbage dumping grounds. People from the neighbouring slums also use these plots for defecation. Moreover, the garbage dumped here is ocassionaly burnt, causing air pollution.
"These open plots near our homes are used for dumping garbage, and open defecation by the slum dwellers," says an exasperated NS Solanki, General Secretary RWA Sector 43.
City Spidey spoke to Ajay Yadav (Junior Engineer, Circle III) for a solution. "The initiative to fence off these unused plots is 'under process' and will begin soon. Yadav failed to give a target date of completion.
Residents allege that these plots are areas of contention between the authority and a builder group.
