The managing committee of Nirman Apartments, a cooperative group housing society (CGHS) in Mayur Vihar Phase 1 Extension, has put a new car-parking policy in place from August 7. As per the new policy, every apartment has been assigned a designated parking slot. The monthly parking fee remains the same — Rs 100 for owners and Rs 300 for tenants.

Earlier, residents were free to park anywhere they wanted.

"The earlier system caused a lot of confusion," said GS Rawat, secretary of the CGHS. "It led to frequent altercations among residents. The new policy, which was passed unanimously by the managing committee, also allows flat owners to park their second car at Rs 300 per month. If you are a tenent, however, the parking fee for a second car is Rs 600."

The managing committee also issued the concept of a red sticker for a second car, at Rs 30.
