Delhi records 335 deaths; 19,133 new coronavirus cases

New Delhi: Delhi again saw daily deaths in excess of 300 due to coronavirus. The city reported 335 deaths on Thursday, taking the toll to 18,398. The Capital recorded 311 deaths on Wednesday, 338 on Tuesday, 448 on Monday, 407 deaths on Sunday, 412 on Saturday and 375 deaths on Friday.

The city reported 19,133 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the cumulative tally to 12,73,035. The city reported 20,960 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, 19,953 on Tuesday, 18,043 on Monday, 20,394 on Sunday, 25,219 on Saturday and 27,047 on Friday.

The number of new cases reported came out of 78,780 tests conducted on the previous day. At least 64,529 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 14,251 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was recorded at 24.29 per cent. The cumulative positivity rate was 7.27 per cent, slightly higher than a day before.

A total of 20,028 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 11,64,008 in the national capital. The active cases slightly declined to 90,629 from 91,859 on the previous day.

As far as vaccination drive is concerned, a total of 68,205 people received vaccines in the last 24 hours. A total of 56,857 people received the first dose of the vaccine whereas 11,348 people received their second dose. So far, 35,52,037 persons have received vaccines in the national capital.

Out of the total 21,839 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 1,722 are vacant. The tally of people in home isolation slightly increased to 50,562 from 50,077 on Wednesday.
