Noida: The Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) on Monday wrote a letter to the Disrict Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar with a request to set up a government multi-specialty hospital in Greater Noida West.

Earlier, the district administration had sent a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh government to build six new community centers to strengthen health services in the district.

NEFOWA has requested the the DM to send a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh government to construct a government multi-specialty hospital in Greater Noida West along with setting up of six new community centers in the district so that the residents of the area can get access to good health services.

Abhishek Kumar, President of NEFOWA said, “In the last 5-6 years the population of GreNo West has increased from thousands to lakhs. There are about 60-70 highrise societies in this area, where only about half the population has come in terms of total flats. About the same number of societies are to be built in this area in the near future. The present population of Greater Noida West is around 4 lakh which will almost double in the coming 3-4 years.”

He added, “But it has to be said with great regret that there is no government multi-specialty hospital here. Greater Noida West has the only Bisrakh health center in the name of government health services. There is a severe lack of health facilities. Bisrakh health center has neither an x-ray nor ultrasound facility, even there is no obstetric surgery facility. There is also a shortage of doctors in different departments at Bisrakh health center.”

Manish Kumar, Senior Vice President, NEFOWA said, “Due to the lack of  government health facilities in Greater Noida West, the business of private hospitals is flourishing very well. It is not possible for everyone to bear the cost of hefty bills for treatments in private hospitals.”
