New Delhi: After a meeting with the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), South-West, three prominent market associations on Monday decided to shut the Sarojini Nagar market indefinitely. The market will be closed from Tuesday.

Reportedly, many shopkeepers met the ADM to discuss the closure of 200 shops (export market) and requested permission to open shops at the export market. When they did not get any answer from the administration, the market associations decided to shut the market.

The ADM Rakesh Dahiya had ordered closure to close the export market on Sunday. On Monday, the shopkeepers went to discuss the issue. They alleged that the ADM did not listen to their requests. The ADM, however, said that the Covid guidelines were flouted at the market and hence it was decided to close the market. The shopkeepers waited for a relaxation order outside the office till late in the evening.
