Butterflies are indeed beautiful to watch. They add colours to our gardens and to this world as well. They are the representatives of beauty and freedom. This beautiful butterfly named – Luthrodes Pandava – is also called plains cupid, which is found in India.

Most butterflies breed on flowers but Luthrodes Pandava is among the few butterflies that breed on plants of cycad circles.

You can identify the gender of Luthrodes Pandava by the colour of the upperside – it’s male if it is lavender-blue and female if it is brown.

These butterflies are tiny and if watched closely, you will be able to see their shiny black eyes. They belong to the family of Lycaenidae which is the second-largest family of butterflies with over 6,000 species worldwide.

The majority of the Lycaenidae family butterflies are smaller in size like the Lutheodes Pandava.
