East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) will provide 1,000 saplings to United India Apartments, in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension. The announcement was made at a meeting between residents of the CGHS and Mayur Vihar councillor Nikki Singh.

"We asked the councillor to give us 1,000 saplings for beautifying our gardens," said Purusottam Das Bhatt, president of the CGHS. "She accepted our demand quite readily. We were also assured that a permanent hydraulic rickshaw for carrying garbage would be provided."

Singh said that the meeting was a great experience. "Residents not only shared their problems but also came up with valuable solutions," said Singh. "I have also asked the EDMC chairman to provide dustbins to all societies."
