Cyber City, the hub of MNCs and offices in Gurgaon, is facing a severe lack of parking space, with the number of cab users increasing by the day.

To bring the situation under control, a surprise enforcement drive was carried out in the area by the police. About 82 vehicles were towed away from in and around Cyber City. As the drive extended to other parts of Gurgaon, more than 800 cab drivers were issued challans, about 1,600 were fined for illegal parking and violation of traffic norms, and 103 vehicles were towed away.

The drive was started by Y Puran Kumar, joint commissioner of police.

According to the police, the drive intended to curb traffic snarls in the city. ACP Hawa Singh, CPRO of Gurgaon Police, said, “We are doing our best to improve the traffic situation here. But we need the poeple's cooperation as well."
