Dwarka: On Friday, a tree was seen in a fallen state across the road in Sector 6, Dwarka. It seemed that the tree fell during rain and storm on Friday evening.
It was on lying behind the main market on Sector 6 road and also, in front of DDA flat, Pocket 2. As a result, the road got blocked.
While roaming in the area in the morning, CitySpidey clicked the photograph. Commuters can get hit by fallen branches. It's dangerous and prone to accidents as well.
Divya Garg, a resident of Sector 6, said, “This is dangerous for residents and commuters can't walk as the whole footpath is covered with branches of trees.”
Due to a fallen tree, the vehicles were facing difficulties in commuting through that stretch. DDA horticulture is the agency that looks after the trees in Dwarka.
Gaytri Sharma, a resident of Sector 6, explained, “I don’t understand why the DDA has not allowed enough space at the base of the trunk for the roots to breathe. These trees become weak and eventually fall.”
Harish Godara, a resident of Sector 6, DDA flat, said, “This is dangerous for us. We are anxious, and want the tree to be removed as soon as possible.”
When CitySpidey contacted Amit Singh, Assistant Director of Horticulture Department, DDA, he said, “The uprooted trees will be removed soon.”
