The fourth national conference of RWAs will be held from November 26-27 at the Integral Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam. It is being organised by the Confederation of RWAs (CORWA), the United Federation of Residents’ Welfare Associations (UFERWAs), Hyderabad, and the Confederation of NCR Residents’ Welfare Association (CONRWA) in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Urban Development.
The conference will be attended by M Venkaiah Naidu, Union minister of Urban Development, and RWA representatives from major cities across India. Members of AOAs, too, can participate.
Its main objectives are to outline the role of RWAs in:
- Shaping smart cities
- Swachh Bharat Mission
The organisers have also invited write-ups on the following issues:
- Requirements of urban citizens
- Management of RWAs
- Promotion of cooperative societies
- Implementation of RTI
- Infrastructure for basic facilities
- Legislation on environmental protection
- Modernisation of cities
The first, second and third national conferences were held in Hyderabad, Trivandrum and Delhi respectively.
