Residents protesting in the societies of Greater Noida West is a common sight now. The residents of Vedantam Society, Sector 16C, Greater Noida West protested against the builder on October 24 in regards of pending registry and lack of basic amenities in the society. Residents shared that only 70 registries have been done out of more than 600 residents.

Annu Khan, NEFOMA President said, “Flat buyers had booked flats in the builder's project in 2010 and 2011 and the builder started giving possession in 2018. Initially, the builder had given possession of about 450 flats, in which only 70 registries were done. The builder has pending dues in the authority, due to which the registry of the flat residents is pending. The residents repeatedly requested the builder for the registry.”

According to the residents, society is lacking basic amenities. The supply of drinking water is unhealthy. The condition of the basement is pathetic. Waterlogging and seepage is a consistent issue. Society has 10 towers, out of which, four are under construction. Approximately 600 residents live in the society.

Last week, NEFOMA met RERA Chairman Rajiv Kumar and Authority's CEO Narendra Bhushan to discuss the non-registration issue in most of the societies of Greater Noida West and requested them to find some way out.

AK Sharma, resident of Vedantam Society, said, “There is nothing in the name of basic facilities in the society. There are no facilities like a gym, club, swing bridge, fire safety equipment. We are feeling as if someone has cheated us."

Another resident, Nishu Dutt Sharma said, “Seepage and water logging have become everyday problems and the lift is never functioning properly. There is a lot of anger among residents because of this.”

Umesh Singh, another resident shared, “I have been living here for the last two years, but still, I am waiting for my registry. The registry is not the only problem, society is lacking basic amenities too, which includes contaminated water and electricity supply too."
