Residents of Divine Meadows, a society in Noida's Sector 108, are living in fear of electrocution, thanks to open electric panel boxes and electric pole wires in the society.
A few days ago, Vihan Khera, a 4-year-old, was electrocuted when he touched the naked wires on a temporary electric pole in the society's park installed by the maintenance staff. The child was unconscious for about 30 minutes.
"The builder has done a shoddy job of laying out the electric wires in all the towers," said Surendra Kushwaha, president of the homebuyer's association in the society. "The wiring is not even concealed."
When City Spidey took up the matter with Pradeep Pal, head of the maintenance team, he said the problems existed as the society's finishing works were still under way. "Residents are using the media to put unnecessary pressure on us," Pal added.
