Omicron enters Delhi with one case this morning

The new Covid variant, Omicron has made its way to the national capital with one case detected on the morning of December 6, 2021. Last week, two cases were identified in Karnataka. Seven new cases have been detected in Maharashtra, nine new cases from Jaipur, and one case in Delhi.

According to a report from Health Ministry, nine cases from Jaipur are from one family, which had recently arrived from South Africa. In Pune, a woman from Nigeria and her two daughters and her brother with his two daughters have tested positive for Omicron. A man who returned from Finland has also been tested positive for Omicron, resulting in seven new cases from Maharashtra.

A 37-year-old man, who arrived in Delhi from Tanzania has tested positive this morning. Officials are suspecting more cases of Omicron from Delhi and Rajasthan. Respective State Governments will update soon with full information once they get a clear picture.

India is once again tightening up its seat in the wake of a series of cases of new coronavirus variant having been detected. India is doing the RT PCR test on all the international passengers arriving from ‘at-risk' countries. Those who are coming up positive are required to be quarantined and take proper precautions with treatments. People with negative reports need to isolate themselves for seven days at home and get tested again on the eighth day.

Now, the count of ‘at- risk' countries has increased which includes countries like the United Kingdom, all 44 countries of Europe, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Israel.
