GreNo West: Once again, the lack of basic amenities and proper maintenance has made residents of Greater Noida West furious. This time, it is the residents of French Apartments, who are suffering from this very familiar malady that has inflicted several pockets of this city.

Earlier, in a meeting with NEFOWA, residents of French apartments shared that they will move to High Court if the issues are not heard and resolved. They pointed that the society lacks basic amenities, the parking has not been handed over to them, they also have security-related issues in the society. Yet, the builder is allegedly asking the residents to pay ever higher maintenance charges. The society is under construction and has 12 towers, out of which, residents live in nine towers. Around 700 families live in these nine towers.

Residents of the society who took possession in 2017 share that as per the maintenance agreement, they are required to pay 1.25 rupees per square feet. However, now the builder is demanding 1.80 rupees which is as per the agreement of residents who took possession after 2018.  According to them, the builder did not share any letter or mail as prior information about increasing maintenance charges.

On this, Prashant Kumar (44), a resident of the society says, "We were not informed about the increase in maintenance charges. We have been requesting to hold a meeting with the builder but for the past 3 years, he is neglecting us."

According to residents, the builder shared a notice with the residents to pay the maintenance charges soon, otherwise, he will stop the maintenance services in the society.
