The 7X welfare team in association with Noida traffic police organized an awareness drive wherein people were made aware of traffic rules and road safety at the intersection of Sector 21/25 on February 12, 2022.

NCRB's 2020 report shows that around 1.31 lakh people have lost their lives in road accidents. In such a concern, it has been seen that if people are taken to the hospital on time in case of an accident, then the accidents can be reduced by 50%. However, people not wearing ISI helmets, driving fast, walking backwards, driving after drinking, ignoring traffic rules become reasons for fatalities in road accidents.

In this drive, members of 7X Welfare association Jayendra Gangwar, Rakesh Yadav, Shripal along with Noida Traffic Police supported the cause of road safety and create awareness among commuters from all age groups.

During the awareness drive, two-wheeler riders who were riding without helmets were stopped and guided on the importance of wearing helmets. Drivers were made aware of the importance of seat belts. Reflector tapes were affixed on cycles, E.rickshaws, tractors, trucks and on the areas which were less visible like barricades.

Anjali Sachdeva, Social Activist and 7X welfare traffic volunteer said, “We explained the importance of reflector tapes and also make commuters understand that change begins with individual steps. Accidents can be reduced only by making people aware with the cooperation of the general public and through such campaigns.”

Sanjeev, resident of Assotech Windsor court and a volunteer of 7X welfare said, “Just wearing the helmet without putting the lock is very dangerous for life. People wear helmets just for namesake. We emphasized to them that do not wear a helmet due to the fear of challan, but your own safety. Moreover, we highlighted that the zebra crossing is not for them to wait for the green light, but wait for pedestrians to cross."

While our awareness drive, we saw many private and government vehicles with drivers without seat belts. Rules must be followed by all universally. Many drivers were impressed by the campaign and became traffic volunteers by making others aware.”

7X welfare team is continuously working with traffic police intending to create traffic awareness among all the age groups in Noida.
