R.Paliwal (65), says, "We have tried to raise these issues with the General Manager for the last 3-4 times but he never shows up. The residents have submitted all their demands to the builder through email and are waiting for a reply from the builder. The residents have now decided that they will not pay any maintenance charge until the builder talks to them. Officials of the builder must talk to the residents and AOA should be formed in the society.”

Residents have been living in the society for the last 4 years. Society has 13 towers and about 1,500 families live in the society.

A resident on the condition of anonymity says, “The residents of the society have been fighting for the basic facilities for a long time. Last year, there were talks between OSD Santosh Kumar, Greater Noida Authority, and builders and residents, but still, nothing has changed.”

Similarly, residents of Mayfair residency protested for the 30th time over the lack of basic amenities and pending issues in society.

Mayfair society project started in 2009-10. However, it is still not completed yet. The society has 12 towers, out of which, eight towers are still under construction. Around 70 families are presently living in towers A, B, C, and D. Residents are fighting for basic facilities such as electricity, water, and better security.

Residents allege that the sewage water is dumped into the basement. Leakage from the pipe and seepage from the pillars of the basement have is a common issue and has rendered the structure's foundation weak. The residents have also been demanding the construction of the boundary wall around the society for the last four months which is still pending. Residents shared that the builder has now hired 7 bouncers to intimidate the residents and prevent them from protesting.

A resident on the condition of anonymity says, “Homebuyers are angry and tired, it has been more than 11 years and still, we are struggling to get basic facilities. The 70 families are living in the society are struggling for facilities, while the rest are struggling to get their flats. The residents of the society are only demanding basic amenities in the society. It is time that our woes are answered."

Another resident on the condition of anonymity says, “I got an electricity bill with wrong readings in 2020. I immediately mailed it to the builder with photographs. He  never replied to my mail and now he is asking about 3 lakhs of interest on that electricity bill.”

He adds, “There are no basic facilities in the society, security systems are equal to zero, and they are demanding maintenance from us. When I took possession in this society, my flat was not painted, and there was no wooden work in my flat that I was promised. I spent about 1,5 lakhs rupees to complete all the works."
