Noida: Amrapali Zodiac has launched a campaign to put a stop to encroachment by shopkeepers in their common area. The AoA of the society has decided to impose a fine of rupees 5,000 on shopkeepers who encroach society's common area.

The fine will keep on increasing with every subsequent day. If the shopkeepers don't clear the area after being fined, they'll again be fined of rupees 6,000 the next day. The fine will be deducted from their pre-paid electricity meter. Thus, it would be easier to collect the fine.

However, since the notice has been passed, many shopkeepers have agreed to clear the common area. Issuing this notice, Joginder Singh, President of the  AoA, has given a warning to the shopkeepers. He says, "There are more than a dozen shops here.  The shopkeepers have encroached the common area to sell their goods. Whereas, this place is for the gathering of people at the time of accident. Therefore, the encroachment should be removed with immediate effect."

He further says, “There are some shopkeepers who have opened a small shop in front of their shop and have also given electricity connection to them. Action will be taken on such shopkeepers and the power of the main shop will be disconnected.”
