Noida: Four dead as boundary wall collapses in Jalvayu Vihar

Noida:  Four people died when a boundary wall collapsed in Noida's Jal Vayu Vihar, sector-21, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. As gathered, the incident took place around 9:30 am. There were about 12 labourers who were cleaning the drains along the boundary wall of the society when the wall suddenly collapsed. All of them were trapped under it.

Eight people were injured and taken out of the debris and admitted to the District Hospital and the Kailash Hospital. Additional DCP, Ashutosh Dwivedi, said that two deaths were confirmed each at the District hospital and Kailash hospital in sector 27.

Rescue operations started soon after the demolition. Firefighters and NDRF team reached the spot, and bulldozers were employed to remove the debris. Police from the Sector 20 police station also reached the spot.

According to information gathered, the Noida authority had given a contract for drainage repair work near Jalvayu Vihar in sector 21. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed his condolences through a tweet. 4 lakh compensation has been promised to the families of the deceased.
