This year, during Dusshera, a woman died after falling into a drain because the drain cover was missing. The incident happened in Sector 13. Despite the incident happened fatal to human life, still numerous places can be seen in the city where the covers over the drains are missing or the manholes are open.
One such place is there in Sector 14 near one of the busiest malls of Dwarka Vegas Mall. Near the mall on the footpath there are missing covers over the drain. Just a few metres away across the road there are more such places on footpath with missing covers. Such places are at the ground level and in dark one can’t guess them. Such missing covers over the drain in that particular area have been existing for months. Hundreds of people use those places as footpath but still there it seems no concern from the authority. Such open drains are inviting danger to human lives.
