BJP candidates win in Dwarka ward A and B while C goes to AAP

Dwarka: BJP candidates have won the Municipal Corporation of Delhi election in two wards, A and B, while AAP has won in ward C. From Dwarka A(ward 121), Ram Nivas Gehlot from BJP defeated AAP's Capt Shalini Singh with a margin of 1755 votes while from Dwarka B (ward 120), Ex-Mayor of SDMC Kamaljeet Sehrawat won the election after defeating the AAP's candidate Sudha Sinha with a margin of 6877 votes. From Dwarka C( Ward 130), Sunita from AAP won the election defeating the Ex-Councillor from BJP's Sushma by a margin of 571 votes.

Dwarka sub-city falls majorly in the wards Dwarka A, B and C. After a morning of hustle and bustle, Dwarka residents have chosen their counsellors. Workers and leaders from different political parties gathered at vote-counting centres to support their candidates holding banners and posters. After the announcement of the winners, a celebration was seen outside the centres where winning candidates distributed sweets and burst crackers.

Sunita, winner from Dwarka C celebrates after victory

The Delhi MCD election was held on December 4, 2022, at 250 wards for which the counting happened today. These are the first MCD elections after the unification of three corporations into one MCD and the delimitation of wards.
