Owing to a PIL filed by the AOA of Shipra Krishna Vista, Ghaziabad Development Authority has started mounting pressure on the builder, Shipra Estate Limited (SEL), to complete pending development work.

The AOA had earlier filed a case with the Allahabad High Court in October 2015. In response, the court had designated GDA vice-chairman Vijay Kumar Yadav to sort out the issues by February 2016.

Yadav conducted several meetings with the builder and AOA members till August 2016. Finally, GDA passed an order on September 7, 2016, directing the builder to complete all pending work and submit a plan of action.

But despite GDA's orders, AOA members alleged that development work had not yet commenced.

Dissatisfied residents and AOA members approached the court again on December 17, 2016, complaining that GDA had not been persistent enough with the builder. Responding to the demands of residents, the court ordered GDA to furnish a report on the builder's progress since September 7.

The GDA has now asked the builder to provide details of progress. In a letter issued on December 26, 2016, Dayanand Prasad, OSD of GDA, gave the builder an ultimatum, saying failure to furnish details would cause it to be prosecuted under the provisions of UP Apartment Act, 2010.

City Spidey spoke to Kulbhushan Talwar, General Manager (Operations) at SEL. He said completion of pending work would take time, as there were a few issues yet to be sorted out. "We are on it," said Talwar. "I will take it up with the local office and get things moving."
