The RTO department of Noida will hold an eye check-up camp for school drivers on February 5 at the transport divisional office.

After the check-up, the drivers will need to perform a driving test in front of the department officials to give a demonstration of their knowledge of traffic rules.

Rachna Yaduvanshi, an ARTO officer, added, “If the drivers fail to satisfy the officials, they will not be allowed to drive in the city any longer. Also, schoolbus drivers now must possess a licence of five years or more, or else they will not be allowed to drive.”

The step comes in the wake of the Etah incident on January 19, in which 12 schoolchildren and the driver died after a schoolbus collided with a truck.
