A stretch of the main road from Seema Apartments in Sector 11, Dwarka, towards St Gregorios School, plunges into near darkness after sundown.
Of late, this stretch, in front of societies including Seema Apartments, Ashoka Enclave, Yash Apartments, Sadbhavna Apartments and Heritage Apartments, has become a hotspot for chain-snatching incidents. Furthermore, vehicles often collide on this stretch, owing to poor visibility.
A resident of Ashoka Enclave, Kiran Gulati, said, “There is never enough light here. There are bulbs — but they don’t glow sufficiently. This entire stretch has become unsafe after sundown.”
He added, “After repeatedly complaining, DDA took half-hearted measures, but things are back to square one. We want a permanent solution.”
Aprajita Gautam, a resident of Ashoka Enclave, said, "Recently, my friend became a victim of chain snatching. Such incidents are happening more regularly now.”
President of Yash Apartments, TR Rajgopal, said,“The authorities must step up to resolve the problem as soon as possible.”
