Residents of Uppal Southend in Sector 49, Gurgaon, are living in fear of monkeys in the area. They said dozens of monkeys roamed the society's streets, were known to snatch food from passersby, entered homes and ransacked the place searching for food.

"We don't feel safe living here," said Bhagat Singh Yadav, RWA president of the society. "The monkeys fear no one. Just the other day, a monkey snatched a resident's glasses and took off. We have discussed the issue with Municipal commissioner V Uma Shankar, who has assured us that a monkey-catcher team will be sent to our society to solve the problem."

"The monkeys even take bath in the society tanks," said KC Jain. "The MCG should act as soon as possible and help us get rid of the problem."
