The Town and Country Planning (TCP) department of Haryana government is set to take action against PGs and guest houses running in residential areas.

According to Rajendra Sharma, District Town Planner (Enforcement), several PGs and guest houses are being run in posh areas, such as DLF, Sushant Lok, Ardee City, Uppal Southend, Malibu Town and Essel Towers. The owners of such ventures are not paying tax to the government.

He said, “Such PGs and guest houses also create problems for other residents. Parking is the biggest problem. We will be again sending notices to owners of PGs and guest houses. If they do not stop such activities after that, their homes will be sealed.”

TCP’s District Town Planning (DTP) enforcement wing is preparing a list of houses involved in such activities. The move has come after regular complaints to CM windows.

Some of the residents have also expressed displeasure over such commercial activities.

A resident of Malibu Town, Sector 47, Gurgaon, on condition of anonymity, told City Spidey, “I gave my house on rent. But the tenant started commercial activity in the flat. When I got a notice from the DTP regarding the issue, I immediately asked my tenant to vacate the flat.”
