A resident of Prateek Wisteria, a residential society in Sector 77, lodged a complaint with Deepak Agarwal, CEO of Noida Authority, about a damaged water supply pipeline on March 19.

The complaint was made using Whatsapp, a social media app. Amit Gupta, the resident, said, “While going to my society, I saw water going down the drain in Sector 76. There was a huge leak in the underground water supply pipeline of the Authority. I took a photograph and sent it to the CEO.”

The supply pipeline was damaged below the upcoming Metro line in Sector 76 near a cut on a road. Gupta said, “It was causing inconvenience to commuters heading towards Noida’s new sectors from Sector 50. The water was flooding the drain. The CEO immediately instructed his officers to initiate action after my message.”

SK Srivastava, project engineer, Noida Authority, deployed junior engineers for the purpose, who took almost two hours to solve the problem.
