Residents of Sector 44, Noida, are exasperated with the swarm of taxis in the marketplace. The market parking lot, meant for five vehicles, is seen crowded with 20 cabs at any given time.

Besides, the drivers dirty the area, wash utensils in the open and answer nature's call on the nearby boundary wall. They use more water than is necessary while washing their cars every day. The toilet at the back of the market lies in a filthy state, with waste and water all around. Some drivers and helpers even sleep in the market basement.

"The RWA has repeatedly requested the taxi-stand operator to make the extra cabs park outside the sector, but he has not paid any heed to it," says Ravinder Zutshi, president of the RWA.

Zutshi said the RWA has listed all the problems and brought it to Noida Authority's attention a number of times.

"The Authority has not taken any action on this," said Sudhir Sood, general secretary of the RWA.

When City Spidey spoke to the commercial department of Noida Authority, its officials refused to comment on the subject.
