Earlier this month, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar had formed a three-member committee to look into the issue of arbitrary school-fee hikes. The committee visited two Noida schools on April 15.

The three-member team asked the schools — Delhi Public School, in Sector 132, and Cambridge School, in Sector 27 — to submit a report with details, such as the number of faculty and staff members working in the school, the salary package of the staff and the hike in the past five years.

The report, it said, needed to be submitted by April 17.

Parents are happy that the committee has begun its investigation.

City magistrate Ramanujan Singh, leading the committee, said, “The committee has given two days’ time to both the schools. We’ll start investigating the other school as well, and submit a report to the DM as soon as possible.”
