Thunderstorms and showers brought Gurgaon residents some much-needed relief from the frequent power cuts and heat wave over the past two days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had been predicting storm and rain for April 25 and April 26. The minimum temperature recorded was 23°C.

"The rains came as a huge relief from the frequent power cuts in the city," said Poonam Choudhary, a resident of Sector 43. "Tuesday evening was fantastic. We were sitting outside, enjoying piping hot coffee and snacks."

For some, the weather was therapeutic.

"The weather was perfect for cycling," said Honey Singh, a fitness enthusiast from Ardee City. "We went for cycling after dinner, when it had just started to drizzle. I actually felt all the stress leave my body."

Rain, rain, don't go away!
