Noida: UP police arrests seven bookies from Supertech Emerald Court

In a major seizure in this IPL cricket season, the Special Task Force of UP police busted a betting racket operating from a residential society in Noida. Seven bookies were nabbed from Supertech Emerald Court, a residential society in Sector 93A.

The arrests were made by the Lucknow and Western UP branches of the Special Task Force. According to STF officials, the gang was operating from flat no. 1004 of tower Extra-6 of the society. Around Rs 27 lakh in cash, a large number of mobile phones, laptops and a high tech server system, were seized from the gang.

Rajkumar Mishra, DSP of UP STF, said that the arrested members were caught red-handed while taking bets. “The department is on the lookout for other operatives and similar hideouts,” he added.

The names of the arrested persons are Ankur, Samuel, Neeraj, Ashok, Rahul, Aakash and Rohit.
