Finally, Noida Authority has woken out of its slumber to solve the problem of the city’s defunct streetlights. It has started procuring components, which had been out of stock for more than a year now.

Amit Mohan Prasad, CEO of Noida Authority, convened a meeting of officers on April 27 and directed them to solve the issue in a couple of weeks.

Revealing the details of the meeting, his deputy, Saumya Srivastava, informed, “The CEO has ordered emergency procurement of electric components. The process of inviting short-term e-tender is also in progress.”

Sukhdev Sharma, a resident of Noida, while welcoming the move, cautioned, “Defunct streetlights have been a persistent problem and the Authority shouldn’t defer the work any more.”
