In a move to decongest the streets of Noida and Greater Noida and consequently reduce air pollution, the Gautam Budh Nagar authorities have taken a significant step.
Taking a cue from the Noida Industrial Area Factory Act, the administration has issued guidelines for different week day offs for the industrial belts of the twin cities which were otherwise closed only on Sundays.
Here are the new schedules, effective from January 1, 2016.
NOIDA
- On Mondays, industries in sectors 1, 3, 80, 90 57 and 68 will be closed.
- On Tuesdays, industries in sectors 2 ,4, 81, 89, 58 and 69 will remain closed
- On Wednesdays, industries in sectors 5, 7, 83, 88, 59 and 67 shall remain closed
- On Thursdays, industries in sectors 6, 84, 60 and 66 will remain closed
- On Friday, industries in sectors 8, 85, 61 and 65 will be closed
- On Saturdays, industries in sectors 10, 87, 62 and 84 will remain shut
- And on Sundays, industries in sectors 9, 11, 63 and NEPZ area will observe weekly off

GREATER NOIDA
- On Mondays, industries in Jewar will remain shut
- On Tuesdays, industries in sectors Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Jagat Farms, Kulesara, Habibpur, Haldoni, Rabupura and Kasna will remain closed
- On Wednesdays, industries in Dadri and Bilaspur will not open
- On Thursday, industries in Dankaur will remain shut
- On Saturdays, industries in Jahangirpur will remain closed
- On Sundays, industries in Surajpur and Shyam Nagar Mandi will remain closed
