Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Dr Mahesh Sharma, also a local MP, has invited residents from the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida to attend a meeting scheduled on June 18 to discuss common issues faced by residents.
The meeting is to take place in the auditorium of Amity International University in Sector 125, Noida.
In this first-of-its-kind interaction, Sharma also directed top officers of the district, including those from the three authorities of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway, to be present at the meeting.
In a letter forwarded to RWAs of the two cities, residents were urged to make a list of issues that needed resolving. It further said that this was the time to brainstorm and suggest ways of holistic growth for the cities.The letter stated that the issues would be noted down and forwarded to the state government for consideration.
Welcoming the move, PS Jain, president of Confederation of NCR RWAs (CONRWA), said, "We will raise all major issues including pollution, traffic and encroachment. Delayed possession of homes in these two cities is also an important issue."
