The Delhi government claimed on June 13 that the 20 new air pollution monitoring stations set to be installed in the city would be operational by the end of October this year.
According to the environment department, the development would help in implementing the Supreme Court mandate regarding graded action plan for the winter season in Delhi.
The department also claimed that the system would give real time data of particulate matter of PM10 and PM2.5, Sulphur Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Ozone, Ammonia, and weather parameters.
A senior spokesperson in the Delhi government said that the establishment of additional air quality monitoring stations would help the government and other stake holders in management and control of air pollution more effectively.
