Following Noida Authority’s invitation for Expression of Interest (EOI) from agencies capable of monitoring defaulting housing projects in the city, 15 private agencies on Saturday evening, gave presentation to the authority officials.

The companies gave their presentation in presence of Amit Mohan Prasad, CEO, Noida Authority, and other officials from the housing department of the Authority, and explained how they would monitor the construction progress of the developers in Noida.

Santosh Kumar, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), told City Spidey that the  private agency that would be entrusted with the monitoring the work of developers will be decided within the next 10 days. “We want to put an end to the woes of the buyers," said Kumar.

“The c ompanies presented their plan of monitoring and tracking the projects," he added.

Noida Authority had issued the invitation on May 26 to ensure builders deliver the projects as per their promise to the homebuyers. The Authority had said private agencies with expertise in construction could apply until June 26. After that, it would process the applications and select an agency to monitor and track the projects.

“ We do not have sufficient people in the planning department to monitor under-construction housing projects and hence the decision to hire a private agency,” the official said. “If the agency informs us that a particular builder is not carrying out construction as per plan, we will intervene,” said a senior official from Noida Authority.
