Keeping in sync with the trend of planting saplings during the monsoon, Gurgaon’s Sector 56 also pitched in with its efforts to improve the city’s green.

The plantation drive saw active participation from children and adults alike.

One of the most unique aspects of the drive was to encourage residents to adopt trees.

To make the event more interesting for the kids, a drawing competition was also organised on the theme Green Gurgaon.

Environmentalist Bhavisha Buddhadeo gifted saplings of herbal plants to the kids. Medicinal trees were planted in the parks of the sector.

RWA members Sudhir Bhardwaj, Ajai Kapoor and Chandra were also present at the event.

“Our constant endeavour is to make the city a pleasant place to stay in. We decided to begin from our sector, and residents came forward to adopt a tree and look after it. Hopefully, this initiative will spread the green message among people, and have a positive effect on our environment,”said Sudhir Bhardwaj, RWA president.
