While speaking at an RWA programme organised by United Residents’ Joint Action (URJA) today, Delhi’s water minister Rajendra Pal Gautam declared that all damaged rainwater-harvesting systems in residential colonies would soon be made operational.

The event took place at the convention hall of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

He added, “A ministerial-level meeting was held yesterday, and Delhi Jal Board has been directed to repair all damaged harvesting units within the next 15 days.”

“A lot of money has been spent on this project by the government. Many RWAs have set up rainwater harvesting systems at their own cost. But we are unable to manage without government support,” lamented Reema Kausik, an RWA representative.
