While the rest of the NCR was grappling with the havoc this morning's rains brought, the rain gods were surprisingly kind to Gurgaon.

Despite Met department's predictions of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, all the city received was a mild drizzle and a balmy morning at 27°C.

With news of severe waterlogging and traffic disruption in the rest of the NCR, Gurgaon traffic police had deployed ample staff to manage the situation in the city. Commuters took more than two hours to reach Gurgaon from Delhi.

“It took me three hours to reach Gurgaon from Noida and I got late for office," said Arti Sharma, an MNC executive and resident of Noida. "The kawariya had also had taken up half the road and despite heavy police deployment, the traffic snarls persisted for hours."

Rahul Kanwar, an MNC executive who works at Cyber City, said, “To my utter shock, Gurgaon had no traffic congestion and Delhi was jam packed till Dhaula Kuan.”

The city is expected to have rainfall by end of this week.
