"It is only when a mosquito lands on your testicles that you realise there is always a way to solve problems without violence," goes a quote. But sometimes there is no other way.

With summer just round the corner, Noida Authority is set to start fogging in all its sectors today. For the uninitiated, fogging is a technique used to kill insects using fine pesticide spray.

The drive is likely to bring some respite to residents. Authority officials have confirmed that as many as 12 sectors will be fogged every day. The schedule is only for April and will see changes in the coming months.

Sectors where fogging will be carried out today are 3, 4, 12, 21A, 22, 28, 29, 63, Kendriya Vihar in sectors 82, 83 and 110, and the Mamura area.

SK Gupta, project engineer (Health) of Noida Authority, told City Spidey that their department has geared up to make Noida mosquito-free.

Pradeep Vohra, president of the Sector 22 RWA, said that fogging is imperative for dense residential areas. "Fogging should first be done in residential areas and then in the commercial zones," he added.
