The revamped park in Block G of Preet Vihar is a story of unity — and of dogged pursuit of a common goal.  The residents and the RWA collectively exhorted area MLA OP Sharma to allocate money from the local area development funds for the project.

The park, spread over five acres of land, has been restored to its former glory — damaged pathways have been repaired; potholes levelled and broken gates replaced. It also has 26 LED lights now.

The park has also been facilitated with an open-air gym.

Talking to City Spidey, SR Sharma, RWA president, said, “Residents had stopped visiting the park because they felt threatened — it had become a hub for trouble makers. But now with the new lights, things will certainly improve.”

He added, “This happened only through collective efforts of the residents and the RWA. First, we launched a cleanliness drive and levelled all potholes. Finally, after seeing our eagerness to improve things, OP Sharma agreed to allocate funds from the local area development scheme.”

Certainly, working together has worked.
