The Greater Noida Authority today assured buyers that it would reveal the financial status of the Amrapali Group in a week’s time.

It will ascertain whether the realtor has the financial muscle to complete all its stalled housing projects. The information will be shared with all buyers.

The decision came in the wake of strong protests by homebuyers outside the office of Greater Noida Authority today. The protests were held under the aegis of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association, or NEFOWA.

Shweta Bharti, NEFOWA general secretary, said, “We met Arvind Mohan, senior manager, group housing cell of the Authority. We protested for hours before being called in for a meeting. We said, without mincing words, that the Authority had only given verbal assurances so far.”

The meeting lasted for an hour, during which the officer promised to seek details from the realtor and pass on the buyers’ demands to it.

He also said that once the builder replied, the Authority would decide on the next course of action. “If the Authority is satisfied with the reply, it will constitute a monitoring committee to look into what’s happening on the ground. Also, the builder’s plan of action for completing the stalled projects will be shared with the buyers and a copy of the same will be uploaded on the Authority’s website next week,” he added.
