Dwarka's Independence Day celebrations

The entire Dwarka was in fervour of patriotism while celebration 71st Independence Day today. Cooperative Group Housing Societies, DDA Pockets, social organisations and institutions celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. Public representatives roamed in the area hoisted the National Flag in the societies. In many societies the flag was hoisted by the senior members.

Apart from flag-hoisting ceremony societies organised different types of cultural and entertainment programmes for the children. Also children performed the activities with concept of freedom struggle, freedom and unity in integrity. They were given prizes and sweets for their performances. At somewhere plantation programmes were also carried.  

During her visit to the societies Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation and a resident of Guru Apartments Sector 6, Kamaljeet  Sehrawat appealed to the community people to adopt segregation of waste as their habit .She inspired the children with her speech telling the stories of freedom fighters. While addressing the gathering at Fakhruddin Memorial CGHS, Sector 10 during the celebration of Independence Day she said that the progress of the society and so the Nation would only be possible if the people come forward. She appealed to join hands together for a better tomorrow.
