Residents of Kendriya Vihar in Sector 51, Noida, are unhappy with vendors and squatters right outside the sector. They complain they have become permanent fixtures on the road and obstruct traffic on the route.
Sanjiv Srivastav, president of Kendriya Vihar Apartment Owners Welfare Association, said that the road outside was cramped with illegal vendors and that many of them have even set up eateries near Gate No 1.
Another resident, KR Sharma, complained of a fish stall outside the gate. "Despite our strong opposition, they set up the stall outside Gate No 1. There's a nexus between a few locals and the vendors, and it's making our lives miserable," he said.
When City Spidey contacted PK Garg, project engineer of Noida Authority, he said action would be taken against illegal vending.
